I've been off the net for awhile because of a serious illness in the
family. I'm going to work on putting thoughts together about the
confliction of being a doctor and a son during such time. In the meantime I'll
post a review of our show that was published in the paper today."One House, Two Views" photography by Bob and Deb DeWeese, is at the
other end of the spectrum. It showcases the measured elegance of
Bob's black and white gelatin silver prints, but as the title suggests
more than one view is represented here.
Deb DeWeese obviously sees her world in color. She is showing
several manipulated Polaroid SX-70 color prints of such vividness they
would glow in the dark. She also meticulously hand colors her husband's
black and white work by use of a toothpick. Bob DeWeese, on the
other hand manipulates his black and white landscapes in the dark room
and in so doing serves up a million subtle gradations of gray, living
happily within texture and sinuous line.
DeWeese is better known for his ballerinas who shine in high
contrast on velvety blackness. Several are included in the
show. The digital print "Arms and Legs" is an exquisite exercise
in figural composition and a show stopper if there ever was one.Really, no shit, I didn't write this. But I damn sure intend to buy the reviewer a drink if I get the chance.

I am sorry Bob, I hope you are your family will be ok.. and I agree with the reviewer you have some seriously awesome pictures.
Cheers! (she says, raising her glass to the reviewer, and of course to the subject). I'm sorry to hear about your family member. It must be very difficult to wear the particular two hats you have now. I'm thinking about you.
Wow, those are great words. It must feel amazing to have such positive things said about your work.
I hope your family is well-enough soon.
I am sorry to hear about the illness in your family, Bob. I am sure it must be very difficult for you. On the other hand, congratulations on the great review. I enjoy your and your wife's artwork. Nice to see you get recognition for it.
I think it would be very difficult in that situation. It's scary enough as it is to know all the ills that can befall us - sometimes I think it is a miracle that anyone manages to stay alive with all the stuff out there.
Did you post a link before to the artwork? I know I have seen a few things here and there, but perhaps I missed that. Marvelous work, by what I have seen!
Indeed....worthy of your work...
Again, not to sound redundant, but hope everything's well in the family. By the way, I'm hurt that my new layout is enough to envoke seizures. You have to admit, it IS pretty sweet though.
Hope all is well and everyone heals and gets better.
Hope that your family member is well soon. Nice review...
Get well wishes for the ill family member, kudos on the great review, and random props for your site in general....
Congrats for the great review. Thanks for the encouragement. I'm officially in. I hope all is going as well as can be expected with the illness. Take care.
The mistake that almost all evolutionists is -they believe that because we believe in God, then we automatically think evolution is BS. This is soooo amazingly untrue. It doesn't have to be one extreme or the other. Actually, God fits perfectly in evolution, and evolution fits perfectly with God. We aren't denying the existence of either.
Doesn't it seem perfectly logical that any supernatural being would take time to perfect his creation? Not to throw verses at you or anything, but the bible itself says that we are made in his image... So, if we have to take time to shape and mold and perfect things, wouldn't it seem logical that he would too? Anyways, I'm not here to convert you, just to tell you that the two things aren't mutually exclusive. Anyone would be dumb to deny the evidence given, but anyone who looks at the evidence would be dumb to completely deny the possibility of a creator simply because evolution is a possibility... An omnipotent being can do whatever he likes... no matter what science says. =)
Comment back sometime. I enjoy a good challenge... =)

thanks love, well that pic is of me so i even appreciate your comment even more! congrats on your show!
I hope things work out alright with your ill family member.
And congrats on the good review!
Wow, that really is a great review. I'm very sorry to hear about your ill relative (parent?). I hope they get well soon!
I totally agree with what you said. The only thing about crediting the cosmos to earth-creation, is that it hardly begins to address the origins of life question. If life started with aliens on another planet creating us, that only brings up more questions that need addressed. Such as, who then, created them? So mingling ID with the cosmos isn't even logical for the classroom, since it doesn't address the issue at all.
I don't want to see ID taught in the classroom, at least not in science. Not because I don't believe in it, because I do, but because science and religion mock each other. Even though they go hand-in-hand, one is always trying to disprove the other. Thing is, it should be a person's choice to be taught about origins. I believe this includes evolution. Alot of children feel very badly about being taught that we came from apes, as alot of atheists feel wronged about people shoving ID in their faces. Honestly, I think theology and evolution should be optional classes in both high school and college levels.
It must be gratifying to know that the reviewer gets what you're attempting to do with your pics. I think that self-approval/satisfaction is always the best reward, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have positive feedback from others. Congrats.
What a wonderful review!!
I am sorry to hear of the illness in your family. I can imagine that it must be difficult sometimes to separate the doctor from the son.
